President's Message:

We are stuck in the same place again this month.  We will meet in the
hanger to the north of the Leading Edge Jet Center, on the second floor.
Anyone have any idea on a handicap accessible space we can use?

As usual, we meet on the Third Thursday (20 September).  Meet and
Greet at 6pm.  Chow down at our potluck at 6:30pm, and finish up a short
informal meeting at 7pm.

For our Fly-out some people will want to fly to Tillamook (KTMK)
to be driven down to the Pacific City Airport (KPFC).  There is a big
work party scheduled.  Also a lunch Fly-in at the Cascade Locks Airport
(KCSK) to show support for that airport.  None of that may work for us.
The Saturday weather forecast is for overcast all day, rain at 2pm.

Sunday looks much better.  The forecast is for clear, light winds,
and temperatures in the lower 60’s.  Perfect 84th Annual Jordan
Chicken Run Cruise-In & Fly-In (OR51).  This has been a very nice event
in the past, I plan to go.  Nice cars, nice planes, lots of vendors, and
all you can eat chicken.

August Fly-Out:

The sky was clear, but smoke was threatening from the south on our
August Fly-out day.  So several of us headed to Cheerleaders Grill,
next to the Riverhouse.  Afterwards I decided to due some air work in
the local area.  By the time I landed, visibility was about 5 miles in
smoke.  Good thing we did not leave the local area. 

Toys For Tots:

The OPA, in cooperation with the Washington Pilots Association, is
participating in the Toys For Tots program this year.  We are looking
for new, unwrapped, toys to donate.  The deadline will be the OPA Poker
Run on October 6th.  Contact Kim or Gary to donate your toy.
